Local Service...International Strength Established in 1987 under the name Bunzl Fine Paper, the company adopted the PaperCo name in 2002 when it was wholly acquired by PaperlinX of Australia in the first phase of its expansion into Europe. The PaperCo group consists of some of the most respected and experienced paper merchants in the UK: Dixon & Roe, Donald Murray Paper, Mason’s Paper, North West Paper, Rothera & Brereton, Southern Paper, Reel Paper and is built on foundations laid by pioneering local merchant entrepreneurs and its local focus continues to set it apart from competitors. Its network of 20 warehouses, staffed by trained sales personnel with local knowledge, make it far better placed to provide the informed just-in-time service that customers need to compete today. PaperCo also scores over other UK paper merchants by offering a far wider choice of popular, established paper brands from the world’s leading mills. With no compromising apron strings to any one paper manufacturer, it has never baulked at stocking brands that compete head-to-head: customers call the tune, not suppliers. This one-stop superstore trading philosophy means that the PaperCo stock product portfolio features over 80 mill-branded and own-brand lines, including an increasing array of recycled grades and both FSC and PEFC certified brands. PaperCo was one of the first paper merchants to be awarded both Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) and Programme for the Endorsement of Forest Certification (PEFC) Chain of Custody accreditations and is an approved supplier to central government under the Printing and Copier (Recycled and Virgin Fibre) Framework Agreement RM655. It is proactive in explaining to customers how certification schemes operate - and how they can benefit from the selection of certified grades - and is committed to continual investment in brands which are manufactured with high proportions of recycled fibre. PaperCo supports wholeheartedly the concept of Corporate Responsibility and has robust, proven systems to manage and monitor its environmental and social impacts. It fosters the principles of sustainable development into its business practice and gives highest priority to Health and Safety throughout its organisation. The company welcomes customer audits and works actively with other stakeholders - employees, suppliers, non governmental organisations and educational institutions - to practice good corporate responsibility via the sustainable use of paper products and services. |
