The PaperCo safety vision is "No Injuries".  We are committed to the provision of safe and healthy working conditions for our employees and contractors, and to the safe custody of visitors to our operations and premises.

Our full Health, Safety and Environment Policy document is shown on the right. A fully downloadable version (5mb) is listed, together with a shockwave flash version for online viewing.

Safety is an integral part of our business and our Health, Safety and Environment Committee meet regularly to provide guidance and ensure compliance to the company’s standards and practices.

To achieve and sustainably maintain the safest practicable workplace at all our locations around the UK requires a balanced approach to Occupational Health & Safety.

At PaperCo we focus equally on the physical work environment, our systems and the culture of the business.  We actively pursue our goal of an injury free working environment and support any endeavour to prevent injury and harm at work. To ensure our employees are aware of the importance of safety the company provides ongoing education and training to:
  • ensure an awareness of workplace risks and hazards;
  • facilitate discussion to identify new or emerging risks and hazards;
  • initiate regular group discussions for continuous improvement in safety within the workplace.
Safety is a shared responsibility between the company and its employees. Every employee has a level of individual accountability for their own safety by adhering to the group’s safety systems and procedures, wearing appropriate clothing at all times, being aware and reporting workplace hazards and risks.

A sound return to work programme is an important part of the company health and safety philosophy to ensure injured employees quickly recover and return to their pre-injury duties, in their previous position or a less intensive role.  The company seeks wherever possible to provide the best possible programme to cater for each individuals’ circumstances.

To ensure that we reach our goals, our sites are regularly reviewed and audited by our team of qualified auditors and/or external bodies.
