PaperCo’s Executive Board is responsible for the overall strategic direction of the company and comprises the corporate executive team together with the senior managers from the company’s trading divisions.
Born 1957, Steve returned to The Paper Company as Managing Director in July 2008. His responsibilities include the Strategic development and Operational performance of the business.
Steve has for the last 3 years worked for Paperlinx UK, Ireland and South Africa, initially as Operational Development Director contributing to the DeliveryCo logistics project and yoyo, the close loop recycle business papers concept and more recently as CFO. Prior to this, from 1990 through to 2005, he held various positions in The Paper Company, finally as the Finance Director of the group.
Steve is a Fellow of the Institute of Management Accounts and has a BSc (Hons) in Mathematics.
Chris Stockley - Group Finance Director
Born in 1959 Chris was appointed Group Finance Director of The Paper Company in July 2006.
He joined the company in November 2004 as Finance Director for the southern region and a year later became Deputy Finance Director of PaperCo.
He started his career with United Glass and worked for several years at Edmundson Electrical and then with Coats Viyella as a Divisional Finance Director and then General Manager in the clothing and labelling sectors prior to entering the paper industry in 1999.
Chris is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants and has a BA (Hons) in Accountancy.
Simon Pilkington - Regional MD Mason's Paper, North West Paper & Southern Paper
Born in 1968, Simon joined the Executive Board of The Paper Company in 2004.
Simon joined Michael Jackson Paper in 1988 as a trainee salesman, becoming sales manager in 1993 and then Sales Director in 1995. He continued his role as Sales Director of North West Paper following the merger of Michel Jackson Paper, Alba Paper and Powell & Heilbron in 1998 and became Managing Director in 2000.
In October 2004 he moved to Mason’s Paper as managing director and since October 2006 was appointed as Regional Director Managing Director for both Mason’s paper and North West Paper. In late 2008 he was also appointed as Managing Director for Southern Paper.
Carl Dearing - MD Rothera & Brereton and Dixon & Roe
Carl joined PaperCo as Business Unit Director for the Rothera & Brereton trading division in March 2007. Carl came to PaperCo from outside the paper industry, bringing a wealth of experience gained from working in a variety of sales and marketing environments. Starting as an area sales rep for Mars, he moved to Coca-Cola and Schweppes in sales, operational and sales training roles.
Seven years as general retail sales manager for the Daily Mail and Mail on Sunday, managing a team of 120 people. was followed by sales director with a promotions company which specialised in supporting “blue chip” brands with major value-added consumer/trade promotions.
Carl was appointed Managing Director of Rothera & Brereton and Dixon & Roe in October 2008.
Steve Webb - MD Reel Paper & M6 Papers
Born in 1965, Steve became a member of the Executive Board of The Paper Company in January 2008.
Steve joined the paper trade in 1988 with regional paper merchant Jarvis Paper Sales Limited. Through a series of amalgamations, Steve became Sales Director of The Paper Company's specialist reel division Reel Paper in 1999.
In 2007, Steve became Managing Director of Reel Paper and is now also responsible for M6 Papers, becoming Managing Director in January 2008.
